Pitcher
Every rack should have room for a pitch follower. That’s why we designed Pitcher as a compact 2hp module. You plug in an audio signal – be it from an oscillator, an external instrument, or your voice – and Pitcher gives you three signals back:
- V/O following the pitch of the incoming audio.
- Another CV following the envelope and timbre of the audio. Pitcher’s envelope follower has a personality of its own: first, its internal fall time follows the pitch of the audio, to allow fast decay of high-pitched notes without making the envelopes of lower ones wobble. Second, it is tuned to give more emphasis to overtones than to the fundamental, giving a CV that is higher when the incoming sound is brighter.
- A square or saw wave following both the envelope and the pitch of the incoming audio, with an optional offset of one or two octaves up or down. In other words: an octaver.

About us
Outlying Audio is a small-scale synth developer based on Lamma, an outlying island of Hong Kong. Inspired by the waves that surround us and the regular thunderous typhoons, our modules are designed and built here on the island. Circuit boards are printed and SMT components populated a few nautical miles away, across the Pearl River delta.
